Has the time it takes for a crossover increased recently? I’ve never had a crossover take this long! FYSA: Crossover is simply to a new contract, same employer, same IC partner. Re-investigation completed end of March 2026. FSP only two years old.
How long has it been?
Almost 2 months. Most of my crossovers have taken 2-3 weeks.
Why are you getting a crossover if you are with same Agency already?
Because it’s a different contract.
Crossovers are for the agencies; going from one agency to another. If it’s just another contract at same agency, all they have to do is read you on to that program. Contracts don’t matter, the program does.
Not true. I’ve crossed over to different contracts/programs within the same agency and it’s usually 2 weeks TOPS. Even crossing over between agencies has never taken longer than a month. I’m just wondering if others are experiencing longer than usual crossover times. My company says yes. But I don’t trust them!
You’re conflating 2 different things. Crossover just means that one agency is taking ownership of your clearance. Once they have it as in your case, then all you would need is to be read onto the program. One thing that could be delaying it could also be that only a certain amount of ppl are allowed on certain programs or projects. SAP access is one area that happens. Ask your company or just go to the Agency SSO since you are already on campus.
Crossovers occurs when your clearance is being transferred between databases, like DISS to Scattered Castles and vice versa. Whoever told you need new crossover for the same agency, employer, and IC partner, does not know what they are doing. You need a crossover if you were going from a DoW to an IC agency. On some occasions, there would be crossover between IC agencies in different departments, like going from NSA to FBI, but since you are with the same IC agency, this should not be an issue.
As others here have already said, you should not need a cross-over. Ask the security dept why they’re doing that (if that’s what they’re actually doing). Sounds like someone goofed.
