I’m waiting for my security clearence and I have a question about my old debts. I had one collection agency from 2016 which was paid off in 2017 as soon as I got my current job . The other one is a medical bill which, first I wasn’t aware of it , next I filled dispute and finally in August this year I paid off. Few days ago I met with the investigator and I would like to know if there is any way I can be denied security clearence based of my previous debt collection.
Did you list your delinquent financial accounts on your paperwork? Or did the investigator bring them up in the interview?
Everything was listed and explained, both on paper and during the interview.

If this is the only issue, I would say you’re good

especially if both debts are now currently resolved. My assumption is we are talking about a few thousand $ or less. Small beans.
