@Thequestionsarenorm, thanks, I appreciate that.

I’m like 90% sure she means that particular agency only.

Possible … yes.
Maybe the poly showed something they were concerned about. Maybe the psych showed something. There are so many reasons as to why an agency discontinues an applicant. I would suggest waiting and finding out what it was. But yes this agency has discontinued people several times before… and for some people, they don’t provide a reason. Though you can put in a FOIA request for your entire file, and see. That takes a while to get processed.

But…
In the meantime, apply for any other federal agency you want. Discontinuations at one agency doesn’t preclude you from getting a job anywhere else. You don’t have to report the discontinuation either.

@Anon1… you’re correct on both fronts with respect to your suggestions. I’m going to continue to look and apply for other places.
I’m already working on updating my resume.

I guess, I should be a little more salty than I am right now… more inquisitive at this point. I’m sure it’ll hit me soon though…lol.

@Anon1…it’s been a dream since 9/11 to be honest.

I clearly have federal Agency stalker tendencies… (jk)…lol.

Remember until you find out otherwise, you were NOT denied a clearance. Do not tell anyone that and do not put it on any paperwork. It is nothing that even needs to be disclosed. Until you get word from DOD that it was denied, you just know it was not processed.

@Thequestionsarenorm… absolutely, I agree. That’s how I’m looking at it.

Great!! You got this!!! You found this one and you will find another. What’s crazy is that it was HR that called you verses Security. :thinking:

@Thequestionsarenorm… it was from my recruiter… excuse my ignorance, but are they considered the same entity?

:sweat_smile: thats not a bad thing… i think

Nope two different entities. That’s how I can say I’m 98% sure it’s not a denial!! :raised_hands:t5::raised_hands:t5:Please let us know when you find out.

Edit: spelling and erase strong text not sure what that was.

Update: HR and Recruiters are normally under the same but Security is not. Updates from your clearance I would think would come from Security. They are the one processing but that’s just at the two agencies I have worked at. Maybe different

@Thequestionsarenorm… lmao… absolutely, I will. Thank you. And just to show them how dedicated I am… if I’m NOT somewhere in a year, I’ll apply again.

That would actually be the 3rd time: I was denied via the interview the first time. This time I got a job offer… so maybe… a 3rd time will be a charm. But for the time being, I’ll look elsewhere.

Trey3,

I one hundred percent think that this is a funding issue at the agency. There are cuts going on all across the board. They probably had funding when you applied and now they do not. Nothing to do with your clearance.

@ipsecmerlin… if that’s the case? That’s unfortunate. But definitely understandable. So, I guess I’ll try my luck again… maybe.

Thanks for tying your hand at a theory…lol.

Not gonna lie… as the time passes, I do get a little more salty.

I am not sure about the funding part but I recently came across this virtual hiring link for folks who are confident of riding this long.

Good luck!!

@fingersxed… I’m not even gonna lie. You lost me. Learn me something, please…lol.

I have the letter… @amberbunny, @Batdog123, @EdFarmerIII, @Rkf4ever, @ipsecmerlin.

Can you share what is says? Understood if you would rather not.

@amberbunny

To summarize:

They appreciate my interest, and that after further review, I am no longer under consideration.

“It is important to understand that our employment decisions are often the result of a comprehensive evaluation of many factors.”

They include in the letter numerous factors:

Personal security guidelines, Psych standards, test results, prior work experience.

It also mentions need of position and limited vaccines and that the hiring process is very competitive.

Then it directs me to address any questions to a listed mailing address.

What??? That doesn’t really say anything

@Thequestionsarenorm… exactly…lol.

So, I guess I’ll be responding to the address they listed.
