Will OPM be beefing up too? Or are they going to be relying on CACI and KGS to take over the USIS role?
Wow. Why is this not posted or leaked to any news outlet.
Â
Good luck to all! Itâs not in the news outlet due to being internal to only federal investigators.
Whenever an employee separates from an employer, theyâre encourage to stay professional and âclassyâ. USIS hasnât even told a single sole yet. Very âCLASSYâ USIS.
@Contractorâ
Â
Wishful thinking. Iâm sure all of our dreams to work at OPM will continue to be unrealized as OPM hasnât been hiring for the last 3 or so years and I donât anticipate that to change. They have to rely on the contractor force anyways to make their numbers look good so they can have glowing review from Congress each year about their quality and timeliness. Even though I know there are some good fed agents out there, they donât do near the work or capacity of work that contract investigators are required to do to keep their job and not get demoted.
Â
I donât blame OPM for canceling the contract with USIS after the egregious dumping practices. Perhaps the security breach was the last straw because USIS didnât have the proper security protocols in place. Only time will tell how this will all play out for all the security contractors and former USIS employees. Iâm one of them so this is unnerving especially when I realize I have no offer signed as of yet because I was weighing my options carefully.
But my TL texted me earlier today that there were no new updates and to hang in there. All the text needed was the picture of a cat hanging on the branch. SMH!
Â
Cold, hard truth says:
See. I told you. All that b.s. about USIS being issued a clean bill of health? LOL. Apparently, itâs been in the making for quite some time, according to my OPM buddy. All the unfinished cases will be given back by USIS to OPM. CACI and KPGS can be quite selective with their hiring practices. Tomorrow, they will have 2,000 applications to sift through. Take whatever they offer you now, folks, Where are you going to go?
This event is historical! One for the record books.
Thank you Congress for doing the right thing.
Â
Â
Iâve been reading through the posts and apparently USIS lost the contract today. I submitted applications to our competitors Friday afternoon, so needless to say Iâm nervous for my job. Where are you all getting the information about the new development? Iâve been trying to find something online and I havenât found anything. How reliable do you feel this information is? I just spoke to my to my TL a few hours ago and they seemed confident we would return.
See my post above yours.
Newsflash all the way from Minnesota:

Â
I love how people from Minnesota know more about this than my TL whom I just heard from a few minutes ago. Hilarious. USIS is the laughing stock of the security clearance industry.
Sorry about that. I think you put the link in as I was typing.
WowâŚwill there be severance in a situation like this? (sorryâŚprobably stupid question)âŚ
@overitâYeah, if your office is in Falls Church maybe, otherwise I think ours will be the printers and old phonesâŚ
overit,
Â
Not a stupid question. I checked on that myself. I looked at the severance policy on the USIS HR site. No severance due to loss of contract. The severance link was under USIS POLICIES. Also for weeks the link on the HR site for âTermination of Employmentâ is not operational. When you click on the link, you get an error message. This page was moved or no longer exist. Wonder how that happened?

Sorry Joe Hackett, when I first posted, I heard the news second hand and I didnât want to post something so serious that could have been false but I did want to post something since it came from a pretty reliable source.
Â
Anyway, good luck again all, fingers crossed.
Â
In the email sent to the fed side, it did talk about beefing up but it wansât clear if that meant fed hiring or more contractor hiring.
Â
I have been told that FIS will be staffing up, but to what degree I do not know.
Itâs true. Here is an article:
