Do federal employee clearances generally go through faster?

I’m having trouble finding the most recent data that supports this.

Additionally, do some clearances get processed faster/bumped to the front because of current needs? I.e. A business analyst may be less immediately vital than a Russian linguist given the current political climate.

What IC agencies use their own process?

From what I understand, a clearance can have a request on it to be ‘expedited’, which just means the NBIB (or whoever conducts the field work) will get to the legwork faster, but that makes no guarantees on when the requesting agency will get around to adjudicating on it.

The IC clearance process beyond the field work is mostly a mystery, for good reason.
