Hello,
Did my 1st poly exam and was told by the examiner that I failed because of a question asking if I withholding information for my application.
He then said “lets talk about it” I told him that maybe i was nervous because i didnt update my application that my father contacted me during the holidays but that was it. He then told me to write a letter explaining what I told him and that it was up to headquarters to decided. We both signed the paper and professionally walked me out. Has anyone else been through this…I was highly confused. Also, I was nervous and felt my heartbeating fast but also tried to keep cool, calm and collected.
Is your father a US citizen? Why would that be a concern? I’ll be honest, you signing some sort of letter probably wasn’t the best idea. If you get invited to another round, dont admit to things or change up things just to appease those clowns. Get comfortable telling them no over and over.
Also it’s super common to leave feeling confused. Most people have multiple rounds with the voodoo machine.
Yes he is. I was so confused with the whole thing not sure why he made me write down my statement then sign it. Thank you for heads up
The whole point of a polygraph is to get the applicant or subject to make a disqualifying or incriminating admission that background investigators would never find out about. That is it. It is literally an interrogation to get you to crack. If you make some admission and sign a statement, you are usually screwed. This is the goal of a polygrapher. In your case, the statement you signed seems trivial so whoever “reviews” your signed statement may disregard it and you may still pass. Unless there is something else about your father that you are not telling us . . .
