Former TFO qualifications?

Currently 26 years with the PD. I was a federal task force officer with for a total of 7 years, lastly in 2023 and my TS clearance is still active. Looking to retire and wondering if this experience would qualify to become an investigator. Thanks.

They basically hire anyone with a pulse. With an active TS, you’d be a shoo in. Just be warned it is a very difficult job and very different than police investigating.

Also came for a Task Force, you should have no problems getting hired.
The job is completely different than criminal investigations. It’s not bad just different. You are not really “investigating”.
However, while this job has perks of making your own schedule and the flexibility to work remote, the metrics ruin it! It could be a fantastic job, if it wasn’t for the constant nagging from your Section Lead and metrics requirements, I find this more exhausting than the job itself. If you have a good section lead it makes a big difference! The learning curve can be steep, from 1 to 2 years.
Good luck to you, if you choose to pursue this path.
