FSP Status question

I had an FSP back in 2012. Left that community in 2015 and in 2017 got put on a project from the IC community. A new investigation was done in 2018 and everything checked out fine.

In 2018 I left the IC community again and went to work for DoD which didn’t require me to have a FSP.

Question is: Since my FS Polygraph is over 5 years old, how would it show in the system? Also, once I take another FSP and adjudication is favorable, will the FSP switch to active or will it show another status in the system?

I think your polygraph will still show up, but you will probably have to take at least the CI part over again.

@sbusquirrel Thank you! I think the better question is since I just took the FSP, will it show up as active in the system if favorably adjudicated? Does it mean the investigation is over? A recruiter said the hiring manager checked my Polygragh status and it shows active.

I myself am not familiar with the concept of an “active” polygraph. Now it used to be the case you were supposed to get a new poly (at least the CI portion) every five years. That rarely happened, and now I think most agencies do the update on an “as needed” basis (don’t ask me what triggers that determination but somebody must know).

I think they only list “favorable” polygraphs in the database; there may be a separate database that records all polygraphs but that one is behind the green curtain and I am not allowed back there

Concur. Our compound stayed with the every 5 years repeat thing. After CE came along I departed. If a person did not clear Poly and adjudication, the clearance would say pending. Once completed, a cleared date is visible. I suspect the system refects you had tge FSP. But stepping away from the community and back in…I would expect at least an Sf86 update…that could trigger a new FSP.

@Amberbunny2 Understandable. I’ve been gone from the IC community for over 5 years. Came back into the IC and had to take a new poly early last week.

I had another company reach out to me regarding another position and they did a background check and told me that my FSP is active but haven’t heard anything from my current job.

Just wondering if that other company said my FSP is active then does that mean my clearance is fully adjudicated?

I’d say so. If they had an issue you would get read out fast, lose access. Sometimes I wonder if they ever file the new polygraph. Just a screen to returning…and you press on. I believe there is a date box for poly on subsequent page. Been 5 years for me too…but just got DOGE’d. Looking. Again.

@Amberbunny2 Thank you for the clarification! I’ll just wait until my company tells me then!

I am so sorry that you got DOGE’d! Please stay positive

@Amberbunny2 are you in Texas? Gotta be some contractor that needs security people.

You would think. Latest missive from secdef is clear. Slash and burn the infrastructure with no regard for legacy or historical significance. I can see our facility absorbed into a higher command after cutting deeper than the 50%. We can’t function at 50% so no use keeping all the remaining ones. I’ll delay fed annuity 11 months, but happily accept contract slot for one last run.
