So my last job i had TS sci and I did the ci poly but it was still in adjudication(for about 8 months) when I left for current job.
Now at my current job, I took a FSP almost a year ago and at that time the polygrapher told me I passed. I was never asked to retake poly since then(I have had coworkers asked to retake it ).
I have seen a couple of coworkers losing their clearance due to failed polys- one abruptly lost hers a year after taking her fsp and one day shes not in scif anymore. The other one was even weirder since shes new grad and failed and the agency took away even her TS without any warning.
I am a bit freaked out- granted there are other coworkers who are still waiting and have been here longer than I and I also have couple of coworkers saying they had to wait 2 years to get indoc… but then there are those who got indoc like within half year.
I am not sure what to do… if I find a new job , will whatever decision the current agency carry over, assuming it is still “tbd”? And do I technically still have ts sci or need to retake it since it never adjudicated?
Polygraphers are not adjudicators but usually they’ll tell you if they see something bad. That said, you normally don’t hear squat about the poly UNLESS something’s wrong, so no news is good news. Getting from poly to indoc can take a very long time with IC. It sounds like you’re fine, but if you’re THAT stressed about it, look for another job now while you’re employed (that’s the best time to look).
Most likely something was discovered during those polys that made them lose their clearance. Lied on sf86, drug use etc. you cant lose your existing clearance based on poly results alone.
@Terr Are you currently cleared and working? From your post it isn’t clear if you are still waiting to get on the job.
I worked at a place where people could work while waiting for their poly to be ‘adjudicated’ and there was the occasional horror story of somebody who had to wait months, including one woman who waited nearly a year. Never called back for a second try… just long time waiting to get the nod.
Seconding this. Per SEAD 4, “No adverse action concerning these guidelines may be taken solely on the basis of polygraph examination technical calls in the absence of adjudicatively significant information.”
