I’m pretty sure all the IC agencies have similar programs. NSA for one even has a high school work study program. The goal is to get people hooked… and cleared

I’m 57 with almost 30 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Automated Testing. I was let go a year ago, but have never gotten a four year degree (I have an Associates in Science in Radiologic Technology from my time in the USAF). I have almost 120 semester hours but not in one degree plan, or one college/university so I don’t actually have a 4 year degree. Can I simply enroll in college again and qualify as an intern or “college grad” (without the degree)? I’m too experienced for most places, yet my lack of a four year degree screens me out of the AI controlled HR departments. Thoughts?

Marko, thank you for posting and moderating. I have 20 years of experience, 3 ba, 2 masters, and my doctorate. I would love to go back to work for intelligence but don’t have an active clearance. Are there any steps or programs available for someone like me?

How long has it been since you were last in a cleared status? Intel jobs have pretty specific criteria and usually not based on degrees. It is easier now to get sponsored for a clearance if you otherwise fit the bill. I know the Space Force is on a hiring spree and will sponsor you if you need a clearance.

Hello, I don’t know if this pertains to me, but I am an armed security guard. I have been trying to get information on how to apply for an agency to help me obtain a security clearance.

If you are willing to relocate you can apply with one of the IC agencies; almost all of them have their own police forces and will get you cleared.

As a former job offer recipient during college from DIA when they had a mass hiring spree in 2003, This never works out. It’s too unorganized and a total ■■■■ show. In my case, i was never even interviewed to see where i best fit. They put me in a portfolio i knew nothing about and my “mentor” was non existent. They did everything they could to not mentor me. One day i found them hiding in and working in a far away office in some corner of the Pentagram. lol I went looking for them when i didn’t see them for hours and i just sat at a CPU with no accesses yet just shooting the ■■■■ with my colleagues, Great guys but DIA did this all wrong. And from what ive seen 20 yrs since, it’s only gotten worse at every agency. I should have been a dentist! lol Just my take.

I think I remember that era from when I was affiliated with DIA in the military. As I recall there was a huge turnover among the new hires. I suspect that means your experience was not unusual.

Yup, Lots of ppl quit.
