Yes other is VA. I am going to wait for FJO but as soon as I see that I was going to drop out of other position. I already told myself I would take whichever comes in first. I was also worried about what would happen if I was cleared by one and not the other. I don’t have a reason to not be cleared by the other but it’s just a what if situation. I wish reciprocation was actually followed in IC.
I would take it one step further and wait until you have reported to work on the first day! And even then… I’ve run into a couple of people who started work with one IC agency and left not so very long afterwards to switch to another agency that they were already in process with when they started with the first place.
“Leave your options open.” People do it. Maybe you should too ![]()
This may not be a popular idea… if I were you, I would take Job A… .started working for Job A… if Job B offers FJO… I will leverage as much as I can before making a decision whether to leave Job A for Job B.
@hawk911, if I may ask, does this position in MD require you to wait or go to a particular “class”?
This is me attempting to figure out the position without out right asking…lol.
@Trey3 I don’t believe there is any type of class. I was never informed of any specific training I would need to do.
@hawk911… ok, so we may NOT be going for the same position then.
@Batdog123… I just realized we’re in the same boat.
You are about 9 months ahead of me, but yeah. I submitted back in Dec. So it will be a year since I applied in September, then a year since submitting in Dec. Trying to leave them be until August at least, hoping they randomly pop up with any news in between then.
Overall, I am just confused. I know it takes time, but there has been this constant confusion with communication regarding my BI. Both recruiters had been under the impression mine was done already, when it wasn’t, so I don’t know what they could be seeing that gave them that impression. The first one even said “oh maybe because you have family on the inside?” but I had to remind them it wasn’t a blood relative, so they ruled that out as a likely option. Like you, I wondered if I wasn’t going to need to do the subject interview by some miracle, but I really don’t think that is the case.
So then its like the usual. Is my position no longer available? Am I going to lose this offer? Obviously a lot of questions with no one to give a true answer. So I just lurk around here, and watch everyone elses progression. I get really excited watching other people see movement atleast, so I am really rooting for everyone with this.
@Batdog123, yes, the best feeling is seeing other people progress.
I submitted my 86 in early March of of last year…
With that being said, yes, this process is so frustrating. The fact that NOT one person can provide NO information is mind boggling. I thought my recruiter did mention the same thing about possibly NOT getting a subject interview… but that didn’t make sense… and it’s already debunked as a theory.
The new website is definitely a let down. Not even getting into that.
As of April… I stopped contacting my recruiter. But around the 5-6 month mark since taking the Psych and poly… I’ll reach out again, I guess. So that puts me at around August/September.
The only consolation prize I have, is if they wait too long, I will have my degree by next May… so if I am still waiting, that only helps boost my FJO offer. I’m already looking at a 60% pay raise if I got an FJO today… so I would REALLY love to see what my degree would boost it to!
@Batdog123, same here… my salary would raise as well— I’d be taking pay cut. Which is always a good thing…lol
A masters degrees?
@Porgy, to whom are you referring?
To you, @Trey3 . Sorry I wasn’t clear!
@Porgy, no worries pal.
I think our positions might be different. I only took one test and it was a quick written one before said interview.
