How long is long enough for TS after adult naturalization?

Hello all,

I naturalized recently as an adult after growing up in the UK. As I naturalized through the 319(b) process, I have only lived in the U.S. for the past year or so.

I found this guidance on dual citizenship, where section 7(2) notes that an applicant in my situation would likely not be granted a clearance ‘immediately’ - can anyone shed some light on how long is long enough before I can reasonably apply for jobs requiring TS?

One issue is living in the US long enough for them to do a background investigation. I’m not sure what that standard is but it is almost certainly longer than one year.

Are you planning on revoking your UK citizenship? Depending on where you apply, it might be impossible to receive TS as a dual-citizen

I’ll happily do it if asked. Applying to State, which I understand is not as strict on dual citizens as some other employers.
