I’ve just accepted a contracting position and have been asked to complete a security document that isn’t the SF86. (Mind-you, I’ve had an active TS/SCI for many years and the SF86 is all I’ve ever known.)
I haven’t yet been provided the security documentation, so I don’t know what it is, but has anyone ever heard of an IC organization who uses something other than SF86?
I can’t speak on your specific situation, but it’s not unheard of. I applied for a federal agency that was not an IC member and they had an entirely different process/documentation.
I’ve also had a friend who applied for a job with an organization that works closely with the IC and they were given forms to fill out prior to filling out the SF-86. Apparently, these forms were used to sift out those who most likely would not be able to obtain the required clearance and the organization wanted to wash them out instead of going through an entire background/SF-86 process.
