Thank you! I hope your process moves quickly and you’ll get some good news soon!
Congrats! Here’s hoping for no surprises
Just for the record… this is not new info, but thought I’d post it here anyway
From the IC careers web page:
At this time, NSA is under a hiring freeze, per DOD memorandum “Immediate Civilian Hiring Freeze for Alignment with National Defense Priorities” dated 28 February 2025.
No such banner at DIA or NGA. DIA only has two or three postings; NGA did not have any.
CIA is of course outside of DoD, a fact they are very happy about. And I don’t blame them, although at times it seems a bit of an elitist attitude ![]()
oh dear is it over? I finished my poly not long ago and was told that I’d be moving on to adjudication soonish. Would hate for it to end like this ![]()
Are they still calling to provide app updates or is just checking the portal for “actively processing” mean you’re still in the running?
They will call you when there is an update. Like when your processing is complete and you should expect an EOD date, for example, while the portal status will remain “actively processing.” At least that’s what my experience has been.
Worst case, you will still have your clearance completed. At least that’s what I gathered from my recruiter.
That’s interesting. I’ve been receiving almost monthly calls last year just to say I’m still processing and to check the portal weekly. But no specific update on where I am in the progress. Ill just be happy to not receive an offer rescinded email or call.
Your last sentence says it all. But in fact, I do remember getting similar calls when I was processing, only not monthly but probably every two months or so. But there was never any indication that an update would be made in the portal before verbal notification by phone. Quite the opposite actually. They always said ‘we’ll call you when there’s an update.’
The portal status has remained the same for me since they started the clearance process. Even now when I have my EOD date set it still says actively processing. So if we’re talking about the same organization, I’d say you’ll likely get a call before you see anything new online.
Thankfully, FSOs have been able to find my clearance information along with FSP even though I never EODd with NSA. That being said, is there anything I should be worried about in terms of clearance crossover? I saw a discussion about someone later finding out during the crossover time that their FSP cannot crossover because they never actually were indoc’d, even if it showed up in the system at first.
I’m just wondering if any of you who are going to the contractor world were able to successfully get a notification that the clearance was fully crossed over.
I understand the contractor’s agency also has to approve the clearance, but I’m not worried because I have other options in case one contractor does not work out. I’m mainly worried about any issue on the NSA side in terms of something being unadjudicated or unable to cross over in general. Thank you guys
I’ve been going through this whole process since November, and I’ve been told multiple times that my clearance is moving surprisingly fast. Even with the indefinite hiring freeze in place, they still had me complete the polygraph and everything.
At this point, it looks like I might get clearance eligibility before August??? (At least I can pray)—but still be stuck in hiring pool purgatory because of the freeze. What am I even supposed to do? Do I just hope the clearance comes through in a reasonable timeframe and then try to find a job in the area where the hiring pool position is located?
I’ve never been in a situation like this before, and I’m not sure what the right move is as my current job also just ends in august anyway… The positions I can get were on the 2024 mission critical list but from what I’ve seen here that list isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on anymore
How long did the crossover take you?
Kudos to everyone out there who is still willing to go the government employment route despite the current treatment of federal employees. Government should still be a place for some of the best and brightest public servants!
Hey @DustKicker, did you have a smooth start?
Hey! I’ve been meaning to post here but it’s been a bit hectic here (understatement). Happy to report everything went pretty smoothly and orientation classes are running. @RandomMan I’m pleasantly surprised how very welcoming, friendly and helpful people are, both instructors and fellow students!
Awesome! That was my experience as well. Welcome to the Agency! Stay in touch, maybe we can meet up at Dunkin Donuts or something when you are out of orientation.
I bet this was me @theawesomejay123 … Just got word today that confirmed that NRO summer interns could be onboarded in June. At least for me, some of the other interns have had there offer rescinded sadly.
Is parking paid daily or free?
Nobody has to pay for parking.
