If you fail to get hired from the NSA, will you be able to reapply in a year (that’s what the letter says) and will your rejection haunt you from getting any other gov positions?

For the most part, if you get a suitability rejection, it should just be a one-year cooldown. From personal experience, I was denied after filling out SF86 because I didn’t meet their suitability standards on one section. I repplied after a year and got pretty far in the process before I ended up voluntarily backing out. I am not sure how this would affect other govt positions, since it is suitability and not an actual clearance denial so it would largely vary from place to place. For example, smoking marijuana once 3 months ago might get you a denial very quick from company A but you might get cleared from company B because they dont really care about it (pure hypothetical).
