NSA - are people actually successful re-applying 1 year later?

I’m in processing for a role with NSA - my current job situation has changed/ I don’t expect I’ll be able to move to Maryland in the near future.

I know that if you discontinue you’re eligible to re-apply after 365 days. Has anybody actually been successful doing that?

I did do the psych but failed the poly 2x (I have to go back for a third). Wondering if they’ll hold that against me, i.e. if I’ll seem like a candidate not worth putting through the pipeline again if I discontinue and re-apply later.

The first time I applied to the NSA was for an internship. I had an edible around half a year before applying and they rejected my application after I submitted my SF86 due to the <1 yr usage. I applied again the next application cycle and I was able to undergo security processing. I withdrew later on in the process but they did not bar me from reapplying.

@xXGunner989Xx helpful perspective thank you!
