I’ve seen a lot of posts about leaving the BI world and for recommendations for private sector contractors. Many roles that seem related to what we do include AFSO and Industrial Security Specialist. However, these positions seem to rarely be open, if ever. I live in an area with many of the big name government contractors and basically never see openings for these types of positions. Can anyone with experience share how they got one of these roles after working as a BI for dcsa?

See if there are any PERSEC Spec jobs in either the govt or contractor world in your area, use your contacts from the BI world and get your foot in that way, use your clearance and persec experience, once in, you can move around to other IndSec or FSO jobs,
