If I separate from a contractor on my own terms, should my TS clearance be in any sort of deactivated/suspended state less than 3 months later? I’ve not received any notification that my clearance was up for re-investigation or anything, so my understanding is that unless the reinvestigation period surfaced while I was no longer sponsored, I should otherwise still have an active clearance right now. Thank you.
Active clearance? I don’t think so. BUT you “should” have eligibility. What I don’t know is how the “Loss of Jurisdiction” angle applies… and whether that is necessarily a bad thing.
You could put “Eligible for access to TS based on favorable background investigation completed MM/DD/YYYY” on your resume.
When you leave employment from a contractor, the company FSO is required to remove you from their Security Management Office, which automatically administratively debriefs you from all accesses previously granted. The investigation data remains in DISS in the event another company wants to pick you up and sponsor/grant a new security clearances.
