My Secret Clearance process (background and timeline)

I work for one of biggest consulting firms in D.C office. My firm assigned me on a DoD consulting engagement team and it requires a secret level clearance. Below is my time line and some basic background.

Me: naturalized us citizen, 25 years old.

Time line:

SF 86 online application: 09/21/2017
Interviewed with the investigator: 10/13/2017

Quick Interview stage. Hang on for a long wait. DMV area is the slowest because of the dense amount of cleared personnel. Look the the “Are you experiencing clearance processing delays?” thread. There you will get an idea of what you are in for and what you can do if things pop up.
