"NBIB Director Reassures It's Business as Usual Despite Clearance Process Transfer to DoD"

If anyone is interested in slowing down on the TDYs, ISN is hiring again and we’re not going TDY. If you’re interested PM me and I can put you in contact with our recruiters

ISN? How is it now that they are falling under CACI? Seems to me in this current climate you have to go tdy. The work is no longer just given in zip codes but splattered. How do they account for down time?

ISN is still their own business, just like they were under CSRA/GDIT. As long as there is work ISN can hire who they need to complete the work.

I can’t say no one will never go TDY, but as of now all of our work is within 50 miles. Only reason I can assume, is if CACI is getting first dibs on the work, they’ll get the most/close work to keep their BI’s and Sub BI’s working. When downtime occurred as we switch ISN kept us employed and paid the entire time.

Nearly 2 weeks of no NBIB work here in Baltimore/DC suburb as an IC. Luckily I’m credentialed for other contracts.

Keypoint believes they get the work lol. But if there’s no work across vendors then Caci isn’t getting work. I just need them to turn on the faucet

Sorry to speak out of my area, but I am slightly curious. Could this changeover/slowdown affect someone currently processing? I’m in the Baltimore area with an IC offer, and I’ve knocked out everything except hearing from an investigator. I’m just curious if it could be related.

Noob question: As an independent contractor on the NBIB contract for Company A can I also apply to and start doing NBIB work as an independent contractor for Company B? Do I need to advise Company A? Work is very slow right now as an independent contractor. I haven’t been doing this long enough to know about the propriety of such a move. My company keeps telling me that I am a small businessman like I sell Amway or something. If that’s true then there shouldn’t be a problem with going across the street to work for the other guy… right?

I know Independents that contract with more than one NBIB prime. CACI is the only prime not using independents to my knowledge.

You can work with as many companies as you like if you are a 1099 contractor. You will have different computers and guides (materials) for each company though, so you have to be able to organize yourself.

Where can I get a hold of a ISN recruiter?

Dano, right now there only bringing on experienced BIs

Hi, am independent BI too. Yes, you can absolutely work for 1 or 2 or 3 etc. different companies and do NOT have to notify first employer! However, I would add second firm and sit tight to figure out all parts of its operations before I’d add a third employer, if you ever do. Sometimes company will make you use PC they send; sometimes you use your own PC but must then buy pricey anti-virus software before logging onto their system. Check.

With 2 employers, you can switch to one when other is flailing and vice versa.

Go for it! And please get another crew that is not OPM to stay flexible…
