Hmmm, okay. I wish they were a little more transparent about that. At the information session, they mentioned this was for summer 2019 but it’s possible for the offer to be rescinded if the clearance doesn’t pass on time. They made it seem like it wasn’t too likely that an offer is rescinded for that reason. Other factors, yes, but not processing.

Anyway, thank you all for your replies! I will be accepting the other offer by the end of this month and hopefully let you know in a few months when/if I hear back.

I would not rush on this. If they told you summer 2019, you’re likely being adjudicated to meet that timeline. We, including myself, don’t know everything on how these organizations prioritize.

‘Likely’ being the operative word here. There are a ton of internship clearances that never get adjudicated for one reason or another.
