Does having a DoD security clearance transfer to NSA? Or, do you have to fill out the security questionnaire and restart the entire process? Thanks!
The clearance does not transfer, the granting of a new clearance by the gaining agency is based on the type of investigation previously completed and when. If it meets the level required for your new job then they can use it to grant you a clearance. They may have you fill out an SF-86 to see if there are any new issues since the last investigation was done. If you now need a higher level clearance then a new investigation will be requested.
