ODNI Used to use CIA as adjudicator and clearance holder. Not sure it is now but you may be in same boat.
This is my understanding as well… what I don’t know is if cleared for ODNI equals cleared for CIA.
I believe ODNI only does the CI Poly, while the CIA does FSP. They both fall under the same investigative standards but different type of poly from what I’ve heard.
CIA actually has positions for both. I’ve done CI at CIA before

Not all. Had 370 FTE on our contract. Ranged Secret to FSP TS SCI. At times crossover from one 3 letter to another is hard. They dont trust each other, and swear only “they” do it right.

I think if you’re going to be on-site or have network access to their system, you gotta do the full-scope. I worked on a CIA contract off-site (this was eons ago) and had to get a CI poly but did not have network access. I think I got a non-escort visitor badge when I went down there but it required a visit request and all that… and no access to the network.
While i was at NCTC/ODNI, I had access to CIA systems including NCS with only a CI. Who knows what they do now, I try to avoid them like the plague.

Here’s a wrinkle: a friend who retired from an IC agency (we’ll call them ABC) before all the recent hoo-hah started is looking at a contractor job back at agency ABC. However, the contract is actually with agency XYZ so he has to do a crossover from ABC (where he is still within the two-year window) to XYZ so he can return to work at ABC!
I’m not familiar with this cross-contracting thing but I have heard of agencies sharing budgets or somehow funneling money to each other for specific projects.

NRO, CIA and NSA do that depending on base and mission they are doing in another country or here. I did a contract like that. CYBERCOM does that also. you need to be cleared for both dia and nsa if its J2.

Interesting. I know which agency is “ABC” but he would not tell me who “XYZ” is. I suspect it is one of the ones you mentioned.
