When a stop work order is issued, they don’t give you a grace period. All of these speculations are just that. If they were doing that, why on earth would they still be assigning work to GDIT. The reality is no one is really getting work like it used to. Talk to ISN investigators who have to go tdy. To the CACI investigators. Perspecta…look at all them.
Exactly, DCSA is holding on to cases until October. Work is still being done.
The last stop work order in recent memory was at USIS in August of 2014, after the breach of USIS’ systems.
I appreciate your insight. It’s been a couple of months since I have been able to read these posts. After waiting for Perspecta to get their act together for nearly a year I bailed and found a better company. I was processed much faster since my adjudication was already complete. I work in an area that they have had a hard time keeping people. Given what I know about the job now and the training I have been through, I’m not sure how long I will stay. I will give it a few months before I make a final decision.
Do you believe the pipeline for contract companies will re-open in October, or will the work from now on always stay with DCSA, since they have absorbed all the NBIB people?
It should open back up for contractors. I would imagine that DCSA doesn’t have the resources to handle the work in house.
Are we looking at October before that happens?
Apparently, yes. October is when the transition begins.
Hopefully you won’t be part of any RIFs, but if you are looking to take the next step in your career elsewhere, SCIS is growing and hiring both experienced and entry-level investigators for the OPM/NBIB contract and multiple other contracts.
Gdit no longer has contract.
Bjj, How do you know this information is correct?
It’s correct. GDIT is going off of the contract.
Yup! We are no longer
And people thought I was crazy. Not exactly a stop work order per se, but the end result is the same.
No, some of us knew that it was a very real possibility, we were just trying to keep our hopes up.
Keeping hopes up, or heads in the sand?
Either way…good luck everyone! I know I’ll be applying elsewhere starting tomorrow.
Interestingly enough, Perspecta is now hiring again
Yes I come home from my tdy Friday imma start looking for jobs on the company dime because this doesn’t make sense
I’m doing that too because they pulling cases and I live in the dc area so no telling how long before our time be up
GDIT deserves to be booted off the contract. They were and are incompetent. Had no business operating on this contract. Hopefully people can find jobs at other companies or find jobs outside of the industry.
