It’s terrible hearing about the layoffs taking place and so many lives and livelihoods being impacted. If you’re looking for a place to land on your feet with an organization that will value you, treat you with respect and decency - SCIS is without a doubt where you want to be!

I think you may be right or CACI. Do you know how long the process with SCIS takes from interview to offer. A lot of people will be without jobs soon

@Investigations_KB do you have any idea if they’ll be opening to areas that are letting go of GDIT investigators? Particularly the Norfolk VA area? Home of the worlds largest Navy base but GDIT hasn’t had work here for quite a while.

Does SCIS cross-credential to work on DHS cases?

How are the benefits and do they offer tuition reimbursement?

If there aren’t any active postings on the SCIS Careers website for your local area (as it doesn’t appear there are any currently listed for Norfolk, VA), email Katrina Baronetski, Recruiting Supervisor, Investigations, and include your resume with the email. Katrina will be able to provide additional clarification and information once you send her your resume, as some of the answers to your questions depend on your specific industry experience, etc.

Generally, you can expect to hear back from SCIS within 7 days of completing your interview regarding your application status.

The following video about the SCIS Investigations: The Field Investigator Hiring Process might also be helpful (along with the other videos in their Investigations Sector playlist on YouTube).

Happy to help and certainly doing my best to provide answers or point you in the right direction of answers. I apologize for delays in response time and appreciate your patience/understanding!

A couple of people are saying they interviewed with SCIS and CACI Only to be told that there were no positions in their areas. After everything that these people are going through, it would help to not have to get false hope when there aren’t any positions out there. But I guess it’s to keep their pool of applicants fresh.:slightly_frowning_face:

The market is saturated with investigators in most areas.

I interviewed with them last week. Haven’t heard back from them.

Better than me…,applied a week ago…nothing

My suggestion to all of you…look outside the industry. It does not take long to look at a resume…this is from someone who has switched contractors before. You may hear that they are flooded with resumes but honestly they can pick and choose. The couple contractor companies that are left most likely will hold off hiring most investigators until after 10/19 (if they even do) and may string you along until then. In the past it has never been rocket science to jump contractors.

Perspecta is only interested in hiring Independent Contractors right now.

How are things going with the alternate contracts?

Is this going to cause more backlog?

I would look elsewhere. Perspecta hired me in May of 2019 and I still haven’t started. Last thing I heard, there was not enough caseloads to train me. It’s now October and I’ve heard nothing. I would like to just end the process and look elsewhere but I don’t think they’ll let me without coughing up 8k for the background check.

Did you sign anything? The only thing I have heard was paying back the training fee if you didn’t work for a year.

I would keep pressuring them to fulfill their agreement (written or verbal) and they will be forced to give you an answer. They had me on the line for almost a year before they gave me 3 options and the third option was to release me from all obligations to them. I took the 3rd option and moved on. I really got tired of being ignored by them. Good luck.

I got an offer a few weeks ago and have a training date of next Monday so probably depends… I would just hang in there and get another job till they have something

May I ask where you live? I live in Los Angeles and find it hard to believe there is no work out here for me. I feel like I should’ve started months ago.
