Public Trust Dismissed Without Prejudice Question

I have a high chance of being interviewed for a position that requires public trust. My concern is I was charged with “displaying a weapon” but was dismissed without prejudice two days after the charge. I never went to court, etc.

Will this affect me being able to pass the public trust background check? This is a gross misdemeanor charge. I was able to get my firearm back.

Apparently, in about 8 months I will be able to have the charge “deleted” in the State I live in due to it being 2 years after it being dismissed without prejudice. I have never had any charges before or after this.

Thank you in advance for any information you can get me.
