Recourse

Is there any recourse in the case of a BI that reflects inaccurate information, supplied by unauthorized informants.

I was denied employment by the CIA, largely as a result, i believe, of some individuals who evidently disliked me (more so than I ever had realized), and supplied derogatory and inaccurate information about me.

I don’t understand what an “unauthorized informant” is in regards to a background investigation. Investigators develop their own leads, the sources voluntarily submit to the process and they are advised of and have to consent to the privacy act.

You should be able to access a copy of your investigation through the freedom of information act.

The CIA is in a world of its own in the clearance world. You will probably never find out why you were denied employment. It may have nothing at all to do with your investigation.
