Fairly quick question, my last investigation was completed in Oct 2012 for TS. I’m about to retire from the military in October 2020.

What level clearance do I put on my resume since I’m outside the 6 year mark? I read a OPM memo that states military clearances do not expire even if it’s outside of the scope of re-investigation timelines (memo was dated 2018).

My personal file still states TS-SCI.

Normally I would say Secret but I’m not entirely sure with all of these changes and the backlog issues.

Any insights would be appreciated.

Additionally there is a specific phrase that can be written to reflect your highest level of access, ‘has been granted access to SCI’ and let them do the leg work to determine whether you are in scope or not. Either way the outcome will be the same, its either good or its not.
