In 2018, I had an internship that required a DOE Security Clearance. I filled out the SF-86 and did not mention marijuana use (less than 5 times). The process took so long that the internship was over before I even got interviewed, so they cancelled the process.

Now, I have an offer for a job that needs a DoD clearance. I plan on being honest on the entire form. Will they have access to my previous SF-86 and want to know why I withheld information?

Yes, your previous SCA/SF86 will be reviewed. If the drug use was within 7 years, report it. Depending on your last use, you might be asked about the discrepancy.
