I was just offered a job that is requiring an SF-86 application. I was aware that they would do a preliminary security check, but not an interim security clearance. Now I’m a little afraid they will rescind their offer when I submit the form. I used marijuana two and a half years ago and a few times before that. I can remember some of those dates. My question is will the interim clearance be denied since it’s only been two and a half years?
No one can give you a definitive answer on that but since time has passed and it was not a harder drug, if you are honest, your chances are not bad. The government has eased up some on this issue. If you were still a heavy user that would be different. Good luck!
