I submitted my fingerprints and eapp for my SF85 on 12/09. I received an email on 12/11 stating I can enter on duty but also that I’m still waiting for a final determination. I’m just wondering what that means and any potential insights for timelines involved. I’ve never had to get a public trust for a position before so my apologies if this is a really dumb question! 
You should be able to schedule a start date. Have you talked to your recruiter yet? They will know.
With some agencies, you can start employment prior to a final determination being made. I worked for one agency that required a public trust which was not adjudicated until I had worked there for over a year and my probation period was over. Had I not have been positively adjudicated, I would have been terminated upon determination.
