Spouse Investigation

Greetings everyone. I have a feeling my question has been asked and answered many times on this forum. I simply do not know where to find it.

My questions are this:

Does a spouse get investigated at any of the clearance levels?

What if the spouse does not pass? Would that cause the applicant/new hire to not get a clearance.

The person I am writing about would have no problem at all in getting a security clearance for himself. He is extremely quite; he rarely talkes; he rarely drinks; He is a very hard worker and a great team player.

The wife does not have a criminal record and she was born in the U.S. However, her adult son is married to someone from a different country. The son and wife are expecting their first child together very soon. Wife is looking very forward to spoiling her first grandchild.

Wife has been known to call someone out on social media for telling a bold-faced lia. Now that will be on the internet for eternity.

Thanks in advance for answering my questions. May you all have a blessed day.

Just make sure you list any foreign contacts on the SF-86, top include you and your spouse. Also, if you or your spouse financially support a foreign national, also needs to be listed.

Thank you so much for answering my question fed-investigator. :slightly_smiling_face:
