I appreciate it. She works for the hiring organization, so I don’t really understand that.
right? thats what i was thinking. This agency is so odd.
Are you a direct hire?
On your CJO it should say that many people are hired for a position and not everyone can be hired, correct? Maybe it has to deal with that?
I get that you say she worked for the organization, but she is just high level. Each department has billets and internal hiring authority to ensure that they get people that meet their needs, if that makes sense. For example, I used to work for another agency a few years back. My organization had five groups under the organization with different focuses. Under each of those were smaller teams, all led by a GG-14 with hiring authority for their team. So yes, the recruiter works for the overall organization, but they don’t have that insight, only that you were chosen by somebody and it seems like they want to make sure that they still have open slots.
Yes, I am a direct hire.
That makes sense. I appreciate the information. I’d like to think the position is still available considering they made me take 3 polys.
Depending on what position, you may be able to slide over to a different “branch” if you are already cleared. I imagine everything would be on the backend, something you wouldn’t see, but also you may get into the hiring pool like someone else said? I am not really sure honestly. Did you apply for entry level or experienced level? And are you going to HQ or an outstation? Those could also be a factor.
Was hired at grade 12, step 9 at HQ.
And me. (yeah I’m still waiting too)
A couple questions:
- Do you think someone would be invited back for multiple (3) polys if a position was no longer
available? - Would you receive an offer rescinded email if the position was no longer available?
- Would the position be removed from your online dashboard with the various steps in the process if the job was longer available?
- Why was I asked if anything changed on my resume?
All this said, there seems to be no rhyme or reason for how they operate. I appreciate everyone’s insight!
I had two positions that I was given a CJO for. Both closed out on my dashboard saying I was no longer under consideration. I sent an email to my Recruiter and the hiring manager for one of the positions and they both said to ignore the dashboard, I was still processing with them. I assumed it was filled by someone else. So I wouldn’t trust anything that happens with the dashboard. But who knows what’s happening behind the scenes. Maybe they filled the position but still want to find a place for me? However, I’m still waiting after over two years so I may not be the best example to go by, ha!
The dashboard is not updated consistently
2 years is insane. Have you reached out to the recruiter recently?
Maybe about 4 months ago? Always the same reply, “you’re still processing with security”. And I get an email a month from a hiring ambassador. My background is a bit complicated. Dual national, lived in many foreign countries, allegedly the cabana boy for Kim Jung Un. You know, the usual.
Wow. The whole process is very bizarre.
I had an offer for a certain position and was processing for two years. It was filled by someone else and they sent me an email saying it was filled and I could reapply as soon as the job opens up again. So yeah you would get an email. So as long as you haven’t received that email you can pretty much be assured that you are still processing.
Thanks for the info. I’m just under a year from when I applied for the position. Did you end up going through adjudication and getting a clearance even though the job was filled?
So this basically confirms the theory of them spamming out TJO’s and whoever finishes the rat race first, gets it. Seems like an awful waste of time and resources if there are others who would have made it. I wonder if they try to find you another position in that instance?
The whole process really is crazy. Waiting two years to find out you didn’t get a job is brutal. I’d like to think if they keep inviting you back for polys and you didn’t receive an email saying you are no longer in the running, that you still have a chance? Heck, I had 3 of them. ![]()
I’d imagine they wouldn’t let it go to waste if you are fully cleared
If you get the full clearance and they say they can’t hire, can you take that clearance and apply to other cleared jobs? Would be super dumb if not
