I’d imagine they wouldn’t let it go to waste if you are fully cleared

If you get the full clearance and they say they can’t hire, can you take that clearance and apply to other cleared jobs? Would be super dumb if not

T5 investigation for TS/SCI - Special Sensitive

Contractor hired to work at a government facility, early May 2023. They currently have a Secret clearance from previous/current job and are awaiting TS adjudication before they can begin work in new position.

  • MAY2023: T5 request sent by FSO
  • JUN2023: Adv. NAC completed
(Not Sure when interview took place)
  • APR2024: T5 Completed by OPM

Adjudication is still in progress with DOD CAS.

The SSO and his FSO have called to see if DoD CAS/DSCA can offer insight as to what is taking so long. The most detailed response they got was that they are not waiting on any information.

I wish they would have let me go through it all. I’m just waiting now for more positions to open up again to reapply. But it’s given me good reason to start my masters as I was already wanting to get it done, but was just planning on it once I started.

I was wondering the same thing.

Yea, that’s really frustrating.

Some people have reported being contacted by a recruiter for another position. But mostly the result seems to be what @Volk said… feel free to apply again.

DIA has a different approach (or at least they have in the past) where they make CJO’s to people and after they clear they go into a hiring pool… only at that time do their resumes get routed to hiring managers with openings. In some case, people languish in that pool for months.

So this is a weird question, but, investigations expire after two years pass right? What happens if I don’t get a decision in the next checks calendar 10 months? Mine has been closed since last July and in adjudication for over a year.

I am growing more optimistic about the Meade agency since more job postings have been appearing lately. I just hope I hear something soon – it’s been a few months of radio silence now and I’m getting stir crazy with my current living situation.

I recently found out the position I applied for is no longer available. I guess a silver lining is that I am being placed on the Cleared Candidate List for future openings. I assume this means I was granted a clearance? Does anyone know if I can use this clearance to apply for contractor positions or other agencies?

Did your recruiter tell you this today?

Recently, why do you ask?

Nothing in particular – just kinda impatiently waiting to hear something myself. I was supposed to have a call this morning w/ my hiring ambassador but he didn’t pick up, though he usually doesn’t when I call and ends up calling me back. I don’t have any additional information until I call with him on if my position is still in good standing or not.

Good luck! I’m just hoping I have a clearance that I can use to apply for other jobs.

Hey terps! It sounds like a positive development in a way maybe? Surely you would have a clearance at this point? Hopefully someone smarter than me gives you some advice! New week for all of us, hopefully some good news our way, we shall see what it brings!

Random, yes, it’s better than being completely denied, so I’ll take it at this point. Now I just need to confirm the clearance before I start applying!

Apparently, the clearance is restricted to the 3 letter.

Man that’s cursed… Hopefully they’re able to get you a position instead of wasting the whole process.

You’re not kidding! We shall see.

In currently 7.5 weeks into adjudication with an agency, and fearful the position I’m going for is going to be unavailable.

Hopefully you at least get through adjudication.
