In 2019 my wife and I quit our jobs, sold everything we owned and traveled the U.S. with our kids. We also documented this on a Youtube channel. We used my parents address as “our” address to receive mail, but we did not live there. Is that 12 month period on the road going to be a problem or do I just list my parents address as my residence?
Is the youtube channel going to be a problem for getting a TS/SCI? I’m not applying for a clandestine role.
Do not list your parents’ address as you were not actually residing there. There should be a comments section where you can explain the year long road trip.
Good point, and I believe you are correct. He may need to enter something like “Various locations” and a series of numbers for the zip code. I’m trying to recall how folks have done it in the past, but I’m coming up blank.
I’m trying to avoid having him enter his parents’ address, which is technically not accurate, and having a law check automatically scheduled out where one is not needed.
You are not to list addresses that did not serve as a permanent or mailing address or the location was less than 90 days. Therefore any locations in the RV would likely not required to be listed unless you stayed in a KOA or some other location for more than 90 days and received mail there.
Simply list your permanent address at your parents place and provide an optional comment that you didn’t actually stay there but was traveling in an RV during this timeframe in various locations throughout the U.S and explain that at no point did you reside at a place more than 90 days and it didn’t serve as a permanent or mailing address.
The E-Qip system is antiquated and not practical and will not allow you to move past the residence section without listing an actual address. Hence, the reason why you list your parents address in place of no address at all.
