TS with new job

I had a TS/SCI with my internship a few years ago and I just accepted a new job that requires TS and my start date is in August. A week ago I was pulled over for 33 MPH over speed limit and got a misdemeanor (no reckless driving). This is my first traffic offense and I plan on fighting it. Should I update the new job about this or just explain it during the readjudication process? What effect would this have on my readjudication and ability to get cleared again for this new job? I know I messed up but I want to know if there’s any hope at all.

Tell the CSO who submitted your SF86. He/she will tell you exactly what to do.

I’m having trouble remembering who submitted my SF-86. It’s been 3 years since I was originally cleared. I will probably have to submit a new one with this job. Could I wait until then and just report it on the new SF-86?

Color me confused. So you’re saying you had a clearance 3 years ago but haven’t used it since? Assuming so, that would mean you don’t have it anymore and will need to submit a new SF-86. When they hook you up with a CSO to start that process, you can tell that CSO.

Yea sorry, I think I’m confusing myself a bit too. I thought my clearance was still active for 5 years after leaving but I guess I no longer have it and have to go through the process again. I will just inform my new CSO like you said. Thank you!
