I recently got laid-off but my security officer says the company has told the security office to refrain from debriefing me. Why they do not want to debrief me? Can I go internationally travel without reporting at this time?
Are they thinking they may be able to call you back soon? This is a new one on me, I’ve heard of people somehow staying on the rolls long after they left the company, but never heard of an employer intentionally directing that someone not be debriefed.
Sometimes a person gets debriefed but the paperwork doesnt get processed correctly… so when the customer does a periodic audit of actively briefed personnel, they find a few people on the list that left years earlier.
I’d say you can travel, but be sure to keep track of dates and places and what not, hopefully you get rehired soon (someplace) and may need to report it or at least have it handy for the next update. And stay away from North Korea, Syria, Iran, and other such garden spots.
