What is going on at CACI?

Does anyone know what is going on with CACI? Late in the week two weeks ago our S/L let us know out of the blue that they were going back out into the field and going to start working field work again for another contract. This wasn’t their choice. They were told they had to go back into the field by their manager. Our S/L said they did not know who our new S/L was going to be but they should remain our S/L for another week or so and they would let us know who our new S/L would be as soon as they knew. Fast forward 5 days to early in the following week and we get another email in the morning from our S/L advising that that day would be their last day as our S/L but they still had no idea who our new S/L was going to be. We did find out who our new S/L was the next day and that new S/L sends us all a very brief introduction e-mail. The e-mail says everything is very fluid and they may not be our S/L for long but they didn’t know yet. Between that introduction to our new possibly temporary S/L and the present we have received maybe two more e-mails from them reiterating things are very fluid and they may not be our S/L for long as they have 50+ investigators now to oversee. Our new S/L also indicated most of the S/Ls who were not forced back into the field each have 50+ investigators on their respective teams and no S/L can manage that many investigators properly. I don’t think the upper management of the Investigative Division for CACI thought things through when they forced certain S/Ls back into the field and realigned the teams of investigators giving the S/Ls who remained 50+ investigators each on their respective teams. Additionally the communication abut what is happening is poor. I find it ironic that we as investigators are supposed to communicate when a subject interview is scheduled, communicate the information we obtain from the subject interview, communicate leads we get from sources or lack of leads we get from sources, and communicate information we get from records but CACI can’t communicate what is going on in the Investigative Division. The lack of professionalism is mind boggling.

My team was told that they made 10 SLs go back into the field and 10 were sent over to the DHS contract to remain as SLs. So people from those 20 teams were reassigned to remaining SLs.

Your team was told much more than ours. Getting rid of 20 S/Ls and consolidating the investigators on those 20 S/Ls teams onto the teams of the remaining S/L is crazy. No S/L can manage 50+ investigators properly.

50 is crazy. My new team is about 30 and my old SL’s new team is about the same. I am not happy. I loved my old SL and have reported to them almost 10 years.

Well that certainly doesn’t sound sustainable in the long term. I hate to say this, but do you think there may be a downsizing of investigative staff across the board for the DCSA contract due to the lack of work? The whole, ‘everything is very fluid’ line doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzies. Has work picked up for you guys since the govt reopened?

According to a Dcsa FI, they are currently not hiring any additional FI but also cutting back on supervisor staff. They’ll be one supervisor to 100 FI. Did CACI furlough any FI’s due to the government shut down? If CACI is cutting back on management staff I’m sure Peraton will also be doing the same shortly.

I work for PERATON and work has not picked up at all. They also haven’t said word about bringing back furloughed investigators. When they furloughed them, we were told they would be brought back as soon as the government re-opened.

I also work for Peraton , and furloughed for supposedly 30 days. I have not received any notification to return to work and it doesn’t look like the work load has increased. Over here patiently waiting.

That sucks to hear, I’m sorry they are jerking you around. I’m pissed they have decided to stop updating current employees on the matter.

I had a some work assigned to me before the Thanksgiving holiday but not much. We did get an email from my current S/L advising they were told they could increase work assignments to all investigators which possibly means the performance based assignments are ending but the email did emphasize that just because work levels could increase it doesn’t mean there will be an increase in work. There still hasn’t been an update to the organization of the teams. Our current S/L does still indicate he is our temporary S/L.

Did CACI lay off any FI’s?

They have not laid anyone off

Wow! Sounds like CACI is the new favorite step-child since Peraton had to lay people off. Interesting-that’s a first as CACI historically plays second fiddle to Peraton. I didn’t see that one coming. Peraton must have pissed someone off or CACI got a “who’s who” in upper management to wheel and deal. Bravo, well done CACI.

According to the Internet Peraton lost two Federal contracts and had their credit rating decreased. They’re scheduled to lay off 130 people in January 2026 and just lay off FI in December.

Fitch Downgrades Peraton to ‘CCC+’; Outlook Negative.

Wow…I spoke with a furloughed FI from PERATON the other day and he said he got a call from a manger, he is scheduled to return on 01/05/2026

That’s a lot! What is your source for this information? Links would be helpful.
