Applied to an agency and before I could start the application there was a little pop up asking if I had not have taken any illegal drugs for a year prior to applying. Technically, I’m at around 9 months clean, I figured by the time they would reach out for the BI it would already reach a year. Would this disqualify me for suitability? I plan on filling out the SF-86 accurately and honestly with my actual dates if I even make it that far.
Is this for federal law enforcement? They’re the only ones I have seen use such a warning.
By the way, I overheard (hearsay evidence) someone from an IC agency say the new standard is 45 days! I’m sure that is for infrequent/experimental use… “chronic” abuse would probably require a longer period of abstinence.

To an extent you could say drug free, knowing it sits for 3 months and no action. But you would be untruthful, which is a tougher standard. I’d ask their security person. My agency wanted 12 months since last smoke. I would tell our youthful candidates we would wait 13 months and a day so they could answer truthfully
