Does Paragon have work at the moment? I referred someone to IDS and she was told all the companies are in a bidding war right now & will know who scores the work by the end of the month.
I have heard it’s the same at paragon. Limited to no work. Not quite sure why they are trying to recruit. I guess there is no loss in having a metric ton of 1099s to the company.
Little to no work. You may get two cases a month.
Gosh!! It makes me wonder if I should move forward or stick with the emt staff that’s moving over. I have a procurement call with Paragon today. But I’m hopeful that once the bidding war is over things should get better for all of us.
the low work is across the industry everyone feeling it, it will be back
What bidding war? DCSA is not up for bidding and EMT only had DCSA - right?
The work might be back but it will never return to how it was in the past unless BI’s are taken from DoD and given to another agency. This is what DoD wants. It’s been minimal starting in August 2025, this is the new normal.
I fear this is the new normal. Gone are the hay days of backlog and plentiful work.
I referred someone to IDS bc I once worked for them. Great company but back then payroll was having issues keeping up with the amount of work I was submitted. But she spoke with the FSO yesterday and he told her that all the sub companies are basically in a bidding war right now to get percentages of the work from the prime. He said it should be over by the end of next month. So I’m only assuming that could be the primary issue along with them trying to figure out the next steps with TW2.0; changing the SF forms to fit the new structure; along with changing the field working systems to fit the new structure; such as the new issue coding, etc. Too many changes happening at once and I believe that’s causing some of the holds on the work.
Just to chime in on the EMT drama, I’ve been working for the company and the only one who lied was the CEO. He was lying to the PMO team. Only he and his wife are named in the indictment. I intend to move with the PMO team, as they’ve been more honest than any other vendor I’ve been with… and I’ve worked as a direct hire and a CI for most of them. I’ve always felt like they had the investigator’s best interest at heart. As soon as Boaz found out about what the CEO had been doing, she immediately started working to cut ties with the company. From what I can see, the entire PMO team has been working tirelessly to find a safe place for the investigators to land. I’ve honestly never felt more seen by a company. It’s rare to feel valued in this industry, so I’m going to do what I can to ensure Jen and the team stay relevant.
I was battling with the same thoughts. I actually feel bad for Jenn bc she’s basically the face of the company; so a lot of this is falling on her even though she didn’t know what was happening. Both Jenn and Meekail are very straightforward typically and they have been looking out as best they could. All of it’s unfortunate but I was definitely thinking that sticking with them and already having seniority may help a bit with the lack of work because I haven’t done without work personally. Just wasn’t paid and now we know why
So they let you all go months with no pay?! And you feel seen?! Someone on another board says he is owed over 10k another person 11k, how does that just happen? For months and there is no pay? I was given so many excuses it was pathetic, nothing ever made sense. The way I see it, the PMO cannot go back to Peraton because they are blacklisted there so the only option they have is another CACI sub…so we wait to see how the cards lineup. By the way, the RICO case names the owners because that is who took the money out on loan. Not because the rest of the PMO didn’t know. Can’t wait to see who they partner up with. I wasn’t aware emt had any direct hires wasn’t the pmo staff all 1099s too? I expressed interest in a leadership position while there and was told it was a 1099.
Not saying anyone’s outlook is right or wrong bc we’re all trying to figure it out. But I think the issue of “being seen” is more a matter of emt being a small company. For me personally, it was easier to discuss issues, personal goals and to maintain SOME work even though it’s been slow overall. It’s easier to build a rapport and have leadership notice your capabilities and what you bring to the company. That’s what typically keeps the work coming even when it’s slow. Being with a huge company can easily make you “just another number” and more competitive with the little work being spread thinner. I’m also eager to see who they’re partnering with so I can finalize my decision. Just glad I now have options with Paragon being so welcoming.
Blacklisted? Wow, I’m learning so much from this thread. It’s crazy that I’ve been in this industry for so long and just learned of this forum. Was there an integrity issue with Peraton?
I believe it’s only been a matter of weeks, not months without pay. Have they been blacklisted from Peraton? If so, this is the first I’m hearing of that. I can’t speak to that at all. And to clarify, I have not worked for EMT as a direct hire. I have worked as a direct hire for other vendors, but I’ve only been a 1099 with EMT.
That truly started to end whenever DCSA and other agencies pivoted to vtc. Market was oversaturated already and now a 70% reduction in cases available industry crushing
We were paid the first week of November and not again til the first week of December; which was about a month. Then again in December, but that was still back pay from the rest of November. All work submitted in December was not paid out. So we’re about a month in again from pay. It wasn’t back to back but it’s been recurring instances.
We received an email indicating the government shutdown and end of fiscal year were to blame for lack of work. That is such hogwash as the shutdown ended two months ago and end of fiscal year over three months ago. My guess is 80 to 90 percent of available work is going to full-timers for CACI and Peraton and to hell with us IC’s.
Not really sure where you are getting your information from. Everyone is impacted everywhere. That is not a fair claim to make when full time investigators at all the vendors have been let go or furloughed. I have friends all over. This has nothing to do with full time or 1099, the work is low everywhere and someone put in here a few days ago the legitimate reasons as to why the work is low but thinking that the universe is working against 1099s only is just not the way. There is low work even at the federal level. It is everywhere.
Primes are getting work or their doors would be shut. There may have been layoffs and furloughs but I guarantee you the prime suits wouldn’t bleed money for 6 months and not pull the plug on the whole thing. Primes doors been open for the last 6 mo when there’s been barely any work to subs, and are they still open? If so then they’re getting enough work to keep their titanic afloat. Which brings me to the next point….The last contract mandated subs receive 30% of primes work. That was a government mandate and it didn’t say 30% if we have extra work. Somehow primes are still open but subs have no work. So again, if after 6 mo of barely any work to subs, the primes doors are still open, then the math isn’t mathing. I guarantee you the board room, money chess playing vultures would NOT hemorrhage for 6 months and just continue to lose money. Primes have enough work to pay the dead weight office staff, TL’s, and paper pushers, which means they’re still making money. Honestly at this point I don’t even care because I’m fine but just to keeping the bull…. straight because I hate being lied to. And, I was told when hired as 1099 that subs would never have to worry about work level because of the 30% to subs in the last contract. I specifically asked the question about work levels to subs and that’s what I was boastfully told. I don’t think the sub lied but clearly someone in is lying which is the real issue.
