I’m a former Marine CID agent and former 1811, total about 27 years. Have been out of the game for a while but times are changing and I’m looking for something new for at least a few years. I have a bachelors degree in CJ from the 1900’s and have been working in my own private business for nearly 20 years. Several years ago, maybe about 10 I guess, I did some limited work for CSC. I guess they went away. Wondering if you active guys would be able to suggest a good company to contact. I don’t have a clearance at present but I’ve had TS for many years and I’m sure I could get one. Trouble is I live on the island of Guam, which maybe works for me and could potentially save someone a lot of money sending investigators out to travel. Appreciate any advice.
I don’t know what the future (beyond today) will bring in this industry, but I do know that at least one of the 2 primes is bringing on Investigator(s) in Guam. Look into both Peraton and CACI to see what’s up.
I’d start as a full timer through Caci or Peraton before I’d go 1099. You’ll get paid for training and all the mistakes you make on cases initially. This job is more difficult than most imagine and has a large learning curve. After a year or so once you have experience under your belt switch to 1099.
