How long did you wait before you had your interview?
Roughly 4 months from when I submitted Eqip.
You getting your TS or your secret? Its been over 6 months and I have not received an interview yet.
Mine was for Secret, DOD for contractor position. I got my clearance Last month. Took 24 months from start to finish. But now i’m waiting again trying to get it transferred to a DOS clearance. If you are waiting on a secret clearance, not everyone has a personal interview.
I already received my secret without an interview. I am currently trying to upgrade my clearance. Day 188.
I am shocked it took two years to get your clearance. This just makes me nervous how long it will be for me. I just hope being former military will mean something.
I was former military as well, separated from active duty Army in 2009. I ended up receiving an SOR about 22 months in, had to respond to the SOR about financial stuff, then my clearance was granted a month later. So if you don’t have any security issues (financial, drug use, criminal record, foreign contacts) it shouldn’t take as long.
umm…I lived in China for nine weeks when I was in college.
Former military means you used to be in the military. That’s all.
Signed,
Retired Military
I had my interview 3 weeks ago and no one contacted yet either…
When does a polygraph normally get taken for someone requiring it? During the investigation or after it is closed?
I’d say in most cases of people who are going for their initial clearance requiring a poly, they do the poly up front, but there appear to be many exceptions. For periodic reinvestigations, there does not appear to be any fixed sequence.
So is it a part of the investigation? Or is it something that is looked at by an adjudicator separate from my case? I am going for Initial TS/SCI.
Just got my Final Secret clearance granted.(DoD contractor)
Not a super clean background, foreign trips and foreign relatives.
EQIP Submitted: 6/28/2016
Bypassed for an Interim: 9/22/2016
Subject Interview: 6/10/2017
Case Closed: 8/25/2017
Notification from Employer: 9/13/2017
End to End: 443 Days (14.5 Months)
I submitted my equip 06/2016 for an initial TS and have had complete radio silence since. My FSO says my package is ‘in process’ and that there is nothing he can do. At what point do I start to worry that my package got lost? None of my neighbors or previous managers have been contacted. Very frustrating. Even if my case starts showing some movement today, it will be close to 2 years by the time my case gets through adjudication.
Awesome congratulations to you!
I am going for initial, and my poly has not been done yet. I have been waiting for it to be done for over a year, but have already done my investigation interview. So I don’t think there is really a proper timeline for it…
I’m also going to be asking for reciprocity to DOS from DOD (do not yet have a clearance). After all this wait, I’m hoping the wait to get reciprocity won’t be that long. I’ve heard a few weeks but am very, very skeptical of that. Do you have any idea of the timeline for reciprocity?
Sounds like you are in the same boat as me. Do you know how far along you’re at in the investigation? I have had my interview and a lot of references have be contacted. I would think it goes with the investigative file to adjudication as one package. But who knows.
No idea, they said that DOS might honor the DOD clearance and it could be quick. Or they start a new investigation and it could take just as long as the original clearance took. I submitted the SF86 for DOS a week ago, no word yet.
