Are You Experiencing Security Clearance Processing Delays?

Nice ! Congratulations ! Almost seems like contacting your Senator caused some movement, or it could be coincidence.

Yep. I had my subject interview last August 2016. Submitted SF86 in June 2016. So for me it’s been 13 months since my interview and I have been waiting for a poly since then. 13 months…to schedule a poly.

Also, I will say something–I contacted my congressman to see what could be done, and the good news is that my investigation was subsequently expedited. The investigator even told me so. The bad news? The congressman expedited the wrong investigation. He did so for the job I _already have.

Does anyone know where in the process “Management Review” would be?

Previously I was in Eval I, which I am told was part of the adjudication process. After a year long wait due to issues getting contacted, I came in to an evaluation and another poly (previous one have been done 2 years before that) about a month ago. Latest status check I was told I was in management review. I am hoping that is some part of the adjudication process?

Currently at over 3 years since SF86 submission…

Have you contacted a congressman or senator?

I have, I believe that might be what ended up leading to the resolution of the 1 year long issue getting in contact with me. The response my congressman got had my entire timeline, with the recent poly and evaluation, so as far as the response was concerned, things haven’t been held up in it’s current phase for that long.

I finally received my Top Secret security cleance. Took start to finish six months. I wsd hired fir Background investigator position. Now the contract company put me on hold to hire. I have SSBI T.S. CLEARANCE and the company hired to many investigators. Anyone having this problem? If not anyone know of any T.S. clearance jobs open?

That made me cringe. I am so sorry you have been waiting this long. I would reach out to a state representative at this point. Do you still maintain contact with your FSO?

Had a similar situation, my position dissapeared once I finally got my clearance. Was back to square one applying for jobs all over again. You are very marketable now that you have your clearance so I’m sure you will get another offer quickly.

Go to a job search engine website and type in background investigator or I would even try intelligence analyst.

I am still very very jealous of you that your investigation from start to finish was 6 months. I can attest to you that many of us wish we were you!

for timeline purposes, how do y’all know when the investigation was opened? Are y’all going by submission of eqip?

I knew when my investigation started around roughly. The investigator will pull your credit. Once he/she does this you will be notified in the mail someone looked at your credit. You will be then told by who.

ahhh ok. so its around when they pull your credit. I guess thats the first thing the B.I usually does.

Good luck! I have been waiting 194 days and counting! Wish the government can help us Vets out!

I have never seen a credit pull after 11 months and I have had my interview and references contacted. They could have done it in a way where I can’t see it but I didn’t get an inquiry on my report to my knowledge.

Pretty uncalled for rebuke of a fellow veteran, Mike. This site is to share info, but it is also an opportunity for those of us awaiting clearances to vent a bit. I happen to agree that veterans, especially those who had clearances while on active duty, should get a little bit of extra consideration during this process.

I am upset with the government/military for few reasons. One, when I joined
they gave me the GI Bill not student repayment. My wife and I both have
degrees. I cannot give the GI Bill to my kids since I had to choose this
option before I left the Army. Second, I cannot get private insurance,
unless I want to pay out of pocket. I have to go see a specialist that does
not listen. The only way around VA care is if I find a company that has
private insurance. So you would think 10 USC 1564 would help out! The
backlog if it’s not handled this could compromise national security. So
yeah I do wish the government can do more.

OK, but just for the record, I was curious and went back and checked his posts. Out of 30 posts (not counting the one this morning) he mentioned something about being a vet in 6 of them. That hardly seems excessive to me.

A note to ALL, please keep this forum focused on the clearance and/or investigation process…and maintain decor and professionalism.
