Can I register with ClearanceJobs.com?

Like many here, I was placed on the Meade agency’s Cleared Candidates List (CCL) and had my FJO rescinded recently. Since federal work seems infeasible for now, I am looking to capitalize on successfully making it through the clearance process and find a job requiring a security clearance with a private company. Consequently, I would like to register with ClearanceJobs.com for my job hunt, and I have seen a few instances of people on this forum recommending joining ClearanceJobs.com to those in a similar situation.

However, it appears I am ineligible to join ClearanceJobs.com because any prospective enrollee must meet the following three requirements:

  1. I had a job in the past two years that required the use of a security clearance.
  2. I currently have an active or current U.S. federal government security clearance.
  3. I am a U.S. citizen.

It seems that I do not meet the first (and possibly the second) requirement. I have seen some back-and-forth with users on this forum about whether those added to the CCL have active clearance. IMO it seems like my clearance is inactive because I have not been indoctrinated. For what it is worth, I opened a congressional inquiry with my Senator months ago because the process was dragging on. A few weeks ago, my senator forwarded a letter he received from DoD that read in part: “[BaconSandwich207’s] security processing has been completed and [BaconSandwich207’s] clearance was issued on [date]. At that time, a notice was sent to [the fine folks at the agency] in order to process [BaconSandwich207’s] for indoctrination, which [BaconSandwich207’s] is currently pending.”

So, with all of that information in mind, am I eligible to create a profile on ClearanceJobs.com?

Careful or the Clearancejobs.com police will come for you. They are brutal man. They will rip your life to shreds!

Having said that, you could always register, say yes to the questions then play stupid if they ask.

Just make sure to use a different username…

The registration points out that lying about your clearance is a felony, which is intimidating!

However, according the site’s eligibility requirements affirm that candidates who have received final security clearance but have not yet started the job that requires the clearance are eligible to register on ClearanceJobs and recommend including this in the Clearance Notes section of your ClearanceJobs profile.

(To future investigators: please note cautious approach and rigorous adherence to regulations)
