Can I work in private sector while waiting for my Public Trust Clearance?

Hi,

I have recently been presented with a wonderful opportunity to work for a company that is working on. DHS project with USCIS. While waiting for my clearance can I legally or not take on a temporary 6 month project in the private sector? Can someone please shed a light on it? Would this hinder any process or delay anything?

You can work where ever you want.

This is America . . . Of course you can accept another position. Remember though, when your public trust comes through, that company may not want to wait for you to complete your project.
