I’m a senior in college and just got an offer for a company that requires TS. I’ve smoked MJ maybe 6 times in the last two years and most recently did it a month ago. I don’t plan to use it again and was going to stop after last time whether I got an interview for this company or not. Do I have a chance at obtaining TS or should I look for another position?
Yes you do but 1 month ago is a little bit to recent. Try again after 3 months-1 year of no use, depending on which government entity is actually holding your clearance.
It is a bit recent, unless you can give them the confidence you will definitely stop, it will be flagged. MJ is common now but still illegal under federal law, and your TS is coming from the gov.
