I was offered a contract with SCIS and cleared to work the OPM contract, SCIS then rescinded their offer (my file is still open,investigation still underway) Another contractor interviewed me, if they proceed, will it be a conflict of interests if they pick up the background check where SCIS had paid for up to now? How does this work? Thanks M

I thought the company who had the contract paid? in my case SCIS.
OPM is your sponsor as SCIS is an OPM contractor.

I do not know if there is a kickback requiring contractors to reimburse for the background investigations - though the cost might be part of the contract.
