Hello,
I was picked up for a new company (received and signed the Offer Letter) and was told I need to go through a clearance crossover. They told me it would take between 2 and 4 weeks for the process. A little background, I started my reinvestigation for my Periodic Review on March 2019, reinvestigation was completed on October 2019, and I am still waiting for adjudication. My clearance was held by DOD and is moving to DOD.
Some questions I had were:

Why would the new employer tell me not to tell my current employer until the clearance crossover is complete?

Will waiting for my adjudication affect the time the crossover will take?
