I was submitted for a DIA crossover on 05/31/2024. The DIA came back and requested additional information to be submitted on 06/11. I submitted that info through the FSO the next day. I am still waiting on the crossover, and I was curious as to how long does it usually take. I was told 2-3 weeks on average but its been nearly a month, Also what is the SEC team at DIA exactly?
In my recent experience (though not specifically with DIA) it seems like crossover either takes a matter of a few days or it goes into some kind of crossover limbo.
SEC? Sounds like Security. Been a while since I dealt with DIA though.
What do you mean by crossover limbo?
A clearance crossover should not exceed 6 weeks. On average, most do take usually between 2-3 weeks.
The SEC is the security team at DIA. They are the ones responsible for approving your clearance so that you are SCI eligbile at DIA.
If you browse aroung this blog, you will see that DIA is incrdibly slow when it comes to processing applicants. Some have had to wait 1.5 years from when they received their CJO to when they started working. I am waiting 10 months in adjudication.
Ah. Are you waiting for a crossover or an initial clearance?
I’ve seen your post on Reddit. I will say this again 2 days or 1 year. My crossover from NSA to DIA took 6 months. They are very slow and it’s all depends on how many people are in front of you.
I’ve known a few people who waited a long time for a crossover and never received any indication about what the problem was. Sometimes people find out about “unadjudicated information” but in other cases they just go into some kind of holding pattern… and that’s what I call “crossover limbo”
I am waiting for my access to SCI to be approved. I not waiting for a crossover because I already work for them as a contractor and DIA uses DISS. I am also not getting an initial clearance because I already have one that is in scope.
I am not sure why I am taking so long. I have been monitoring other blogs and as well as others that I work with to figure out their timelines. Even with it being slow, the most I have seen is usually 6 to 10 months with a number people of having a year or more to wait.
