Contractor for DIA - Clearance Crossover Process / Timeline 2025?

Has anyone, as a contractor, recently had their TS SCI + CI clearance crossover to DIA in 2025? My first contractor support to DIA crossover took near 4 months a few years back.

How is the experience and timeline now for contractors? I heard that sometimes DIA crossover timelines can be rather lengthy at times, especially for Federal employees onboarding to DIA.

Background:

I’ve signed on with a Sub company to the Prime company which provides support to DIA about 3 weeks ago. Since my clearance was sitting idle (my last cleared role was as a contractor supporting DIA about 2 years ago, so no one has been sponsoring it since then as I took a different role that didn’t require it) but it’s still enrolled in CE (favorable-in scope), my FSO sent me over new onboarding documents including an SF86C. I made it back before the 2 year window door shut one me as I was told.

I filled it out (only update a few jobs since then), and a few days later I reached out to them and they stated everything looked good, I wouldn’t need a full or reinvestigation and my CE date has been updated in some system to reflect the date as of almost 3 weeks ago and I will be good until 2030. They said they sent my “nomination” package up to the prime’s FSO I think and then I guess I’m now waiting for a DIA contractor orientation date?

Is this how it works? Am I waiting to hear back from the Prime or DIA about my SF86C? Or is it now a waiting game?

I just remember the crazy document kickback and wait time horror stories and don’t want to be stuck for months as I was told by my FSO it usually doesn’t take that long anymore for DIA, at most should be 2-6 weeks. With all what’s going on in the news and job market, I hope I won’t be sitting for months in the dark.

Sorry if I’m explaining any of this incorrectly, I’m summarizing at best of what FSO language I was able to digest . Let me know your thoughts please. Thank you.
